Book 1

Agent X: The Interrogation

Following an illegal interrogation in 2012 of a rogue operative known only as Agent X, Commander Nelson — head of the Island's Secret Services — uncovers a sinister conspiracy.

A shadow organisation known as the New World Order is quietly advancing a plan to reshape humanity through the use of powerful new technology.

Now it is 2030.

The fate of the island — and perhaps the world — rests in Nelson’s hands.

But as Nelson and his men begin to uncover the truth, they realise the conspiracy runs deeper than anyone imagined…

Main Characters

Agent X

A rogue Secret Service agent who once ran the Island’s Secret Services. Considered its most intelligent operative, Agent X is now missing in action. Even while evading the enemies hunting him, he continues to provide vital intelligence to Island Intelligence.

Commander George Nelson

Head of the Island Secret Services Intelligence Agency, Nelson is a ruthless, calculating and consummate government operative. He can use an international network to obtain whatever intelligence he believes is needed to protect the Island. He sees himself as a defender of the Kingdom, fears neither corporations nor ministers, and is willing to confront either head-on with his team of intelligence operatives.

Agent Jacob Roberts

Roberts is Nelson’s number-one intelligence officer. His intuition, investigative ability and extraordinary pattern-recognition skills allow him to connect information that others miss. His neurodivergent and unorthodox approach repeatedly exposes complex intelligence problems, double and triple agents, and closely guarded corporate secrets.

Agent Benjamin Michaels

Agent Michaels is Nelson’s personal bodyguard and an intelligence operative with a difference. Behind his charming, humorous manner is a highly capable assassin who seems energised rather than intimidated by dangerous situations. His love of women, food and firearms keeps the mood light, while his deepest trust is reserved for Roberts and Nelson; beneath the toughness, he has a heart of gold and profound respect for Commander Nelson.

General Zhang

An elite Special Forces operative from EAC-1 and commander of the SS Special Forces, General Zhang’s true identity is concealed from almost everyone, even the Supreme Leader. A known sociopath with a dark and intimidating presence, he is feared even by the Supreme Leader’s personal bodyguards, while his operational skills are considered exceptional.

Number One

A man, a myth, or perhaps a being from another dimension. Agent X considers Number One the most powerful man on the planet, yet his true nature and identity remain a mystery to everyone.

The Arab

A Secret Service quadruple agent beholden to no corporation or country. With multiple faces and identities, he is almost impossible to define or trace, and is a master of deception and control.

Book 2

Agent X: The Investigation

The investigation continues as Commander Nelson is drawn into unknown territory, taking increasing risks to uncover the Corporation’s agenda and those behind the conspiracy.

Nelson and his team soon realise the bigger picture and find themselves pulled into unexpected conflicts.

As more advanced technology is integrated into the island’s systems, Nelson does everything he can to regain control of the new corporate infrastructure being imposed.

Meanwhile, Agent Michaels and Agent Roberts begin to understand that they are dealing with forces beyond their comprehension.

Main Characters

David Crest

Head of the Island’s Mind Mechanic Division and a trusted friend of Commander George Nelson, David Crest is an expert in Neuro-Linguistic Programming, hypnosis, and the reprogramming of the conscious and subconscious mind. Using advanced beta, gamma, delta and theta brainwave equipment alongside hypnotic suggestion, he can implant or extract thoughts and experiences and even reprogramme the nervous system through the human senses. His role in the Agency is to keep high-level operatives mentally functional, including treating trauma and stress through synaptic association replacement and realignment; he was trained and managed by Nelson himself.

Anya

Jacob Roberts’s wife is a highly intelligent algorithm designer and mathematical genius. Her work is so secretive that neither she nor Roberts can discuss their professional lives with the other. Away from work, she is grounded, fun-loving and helps keep their relationship light-hearted.

James

An acquaintance of Jacob Roberts, James appears to be a light-hearted, comical and friendly family man. Yet his very existence is uncertain: is he real, a product of Roberts’s imagination, or an implant created by the Mind Mechanic Division?

Graham Doyle

A quick-witted Irishman who brings humour to almost every situation, Graham Doyle appears ordinary at first glance. In reality, he is an expert in computer programming and algorithms who works for the largest technology company in the world, with simple family values concealing the scale of his technical ability.

Minister Smithe

Head of foreign relations and internal communications, Minister Smithe is a shrewd businessman with a strong understanding of complex transformers and receivers. His true loyalty, however, is to his own bank account and his under-the-table business dealings, making him a man who cannot be trusted.

Minister Hughes

CEO of the new Island Corporation, Minister Hughes is a strong-willed advocate of population control through computer systems, facial recognition and advanced AI technology. His loyalty no longer lies with the old parliamentary establishment, but with the newly formed Corporate World Order. Clever, dangerous and highly connected, he has access to almost every part of what he calls the old archaic system.

The Man in the Chair — The Hotel Owner

An unknown, tall and menacing figure who appears to possess otherworldly powers. But is he real, or another imagined presence in Agent Roberts’s mind?
